Common questions

Is Welding Reference Pro free?

Yes — the app is free to download. A one-time Pro in-app purchase unlocks all calculators without limits and removes ads. There is no subscription.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Every calculator and every reference guide works without an internet connection. Nothing is fetched from a server. Perfect for remote job sites and shop floors with no cell service.

What processes does the Weld Settings Calculator support?

MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Stick (SMAW), and Flux-Core (FCAW) — across Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Cast Iron.

How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new phone?

Open the app, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases." Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID — no account or receipt needed.

Can I save calculator results?

Yes. Tap the save icon on any result to store it in Saved Calculations. Saves are stored locally on your device using SwiftData — no cloud sync, no login required.

Does it support metric units?

Yes. There's a global Imperial / Metric toggle in Settings. Flip it once and every calculator in the app updates automatically.

Which electrodes are covered in the guide?

27 electrodes and fillers: Stick (E6010, E6011, E6013, E7014, E7018, E7024, E7028, E8010, E8018, E11018), MIG (ER70S-2, ER70S-6), TIG (ER70S-2, ER308L, ER309L, ER316L, ER4043, ER5356, EWTh-2, EWCe-2, EWLa-1.5), Flux-Core (E71T-1, E71T-8, E70T-4, E81T1-Ni1), and Nickel (ENi-1, ENiCrFe-3).

Is there an Android version?

Not currently. Welding Reference Pro is iOS only at this time. If you'd like an Android version, send us an email — we track demand for future releases.
